VITERBI SERB PhD FELLOWSHIPS

Dr. T. K. Chandrashekar, secretary of Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) led the delegation and signed an MOU with USC on May 18th, 2015 to establish a PhD fellowship program.

Officials from the Government of India and Indo US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) also visited USC to to establish the PhD fellowship program. The program will support 5 SERB-USC PhD fellowships each year.

A delegation from SERB led by Secretary Dr. Brakaspathy visited VSoE on October 17. During this visit SERB officials discussed other PhD and Postdoc programs, faculty visit programs and also heard from several faculty about research centers.

Areas of research discussed by faculty include Cybersecurity, AI for social good, Internet of Things and Machine Learning. SERB supports virtual research centers between US and Indian institutions to facilitate research collaborations.

SERB has a new program for visiting faculty called VAJRA.
