Credit Card Security Breach at Target

On December 19, Target announced a security breach of credit and debit card data from in-store transactions at the company’s U.S. locations between November 27 and December 15. The breach may affect up to 40 million shoppers.

Computer science professor Clifford Neuman took to the airwaves to discuss this security breach, which exposed credit and debit card numbers, expiration dates and 3-digit security codes, and to advise shoppers on how to protect themselves from data theft.
