Tal Hassner Joins ISI

Tal Hassner

Tal Hassner has joined ISI from the Open University of Israel, where he was an assistant professor (known there as a senior lecturer) in the mathematics and computer science department.

Hassner’s research involves applications of machine learning techniques to pattern recognition and computer vision, and he is working with ISI’s Wael Abd-Almageed on the GLAIVE computer-vision project. Hassner’s honors include IEEE SMI 2005, the best scoring method in the Faces in Real-Life Images workshop, ECCV 2008, and the OpenCV State of the Art Vision Challenge award, Image Registration category, CVPR 2015. He received his Ph.D. degrees in applied mathematics and computer science from the Weizmann Institute of Science. Subsequently, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship, also at the Weizmann Institute. ISI is pleased to have Hassner on board, and looks forward to his contributions.
