Glassfrogs remove RBCs from circulation while sleeping. (A) High-resolution PAM showing RBC perfusion within the vasculature of the same frog while asleep and under anesthesia. This PAM technique can capture the location of RBCs within single vessels, as well as the oxygen saturation of hemoglobin (sO2).
