Ryan Park, adjunct professor of astronautical engineering, has been awarded the 2025 Judith A. Resnik Space Award for his important contributions to the study of gravity and planetary science.

The IEEE AESS Judith A. Resnik Space Award honors candidates who have provided outstanding contributions to space engineering in the AESS fields of interest; the organization, systems engineering, design, development, integration, and operation of complex systems for space, air, ocean, or ground environments.

Dr. Ryan Park

Ryan Park, adjunct professor of astronautics practice

Ryan Park, adjunct professor at the USC Department of Astronautical Engineering, is a principal engineer and senior research scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). His primary research focuses on the development of planetary and lunar ephemerides and gravity science.

Park is a fellow of the American Astronautical Society (AAS) and an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). At JPL, he leads the Solar System Dynamics Group, overseeing the development of ephemerides, gravity fields, and rotations of natural planetary objects. He also serves as the associate directorate scientist for JPL’s Interplanetary Network Directorate.
