The IISE student chapter e-board.
The national leadership of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers has recognized the USC IISE student chapter with a 2025 Gold Award for chapter performance.
USC IISE President Alex Wang said it has been an active year for the student organization, which recently hosted the IISE Western Regional Conference on the USC campus, an event that required months of planning.
“I’m very grateful to see our team’s hard work recognized this year,” Wang said. “It’s been an incredible year of growth and progress for USC IISE, where we’ve expanded our impact not only on ISE students at USC but also throughout the Western US. I’m excited to see us sustain that progress next year and beyond.”
Wang said the IISE team has continued to host well-attended recruitment events on campus, including a Disney Parks industrial engineering recruitment session and the organization’s Consulting Career Fair.
“We maintained a strong symbiotic relationship with the ISE department, including by supporting events like the annual ISE Ice Cream Social and Alumni Mixer,” Wang said. “We also launched a few new ventures, including a headshot event in the fall, exciting behind-the-scenes tours of BMO Stadium’s operations and the USC Aviation Safety Program’s collection of accident airplanes, and a brand-new IISE mentorship program with 30+ participating mentors and mentees.”
The chapter also recently supported a group of students to attend the IISE Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, which Wang said provided a fantastic opportunity for students to learn and network from thousands of industrial engineers leading the field.
