Kim took on the role of Viterbi’s Vice Dean of Administration & Finance in February 2021 and serves as the School’s Chief Finance & Operating Officer.

Kim provides strategic direction and oversight for the following areas: administrative and financial operations, budget & financial planning, human resources & payroll, space planning and facilities operations, DEI Initiatives, & IT Operations.

Kim joined USC in 2019 as the Chief Financial Officer in the USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. As a member of the Dornsife Dean’s leadership team, she was responsible for strategically leading, planning, and organizing the financial functions of the Dornsife College, as well as the management of Dornsife’s Research Administration Team.

Prior to working at USC, Kim served six years as the Chief Financial Officer at Columbia’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, where she was a key advisor to the Dean and the Department Chairs. In that capacity, she had direct oversight and management of accounting, payroll, procurement, financial planning & analysis, budget, grants administration, and risk management. She was also involved in HR management, faculty affairs, communications, facilities management, information technology, space planning functions, and physical plant operations.

Kim joins USC Viterbi with a deep understanding and appreciation of the complexities and challenges of managing the administrative and financial operations of a top-tier Engineering school. Prior to working in higher education, Kim was the Director of Planning and Budget for a $3.2B electric utility company in Long Island, New York. Prior to that, she was a High School Math Teacher for over 5 years. Kim began her career as an assistant on the trading floor at Morgan Stanley in New York.

Kim holds an Executive master’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in mathematics Secondary Education from Hofstra University in Long Island, New York, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics Management from Ithaca College in Ithaca,
New York.

Kim is also a proud USC parent. Her son graduated in May 2023 with a dual degree in accounting and business administration.
