AI/nsiders podcast

Adam Russell, AI/nthropologist and Director of the AI Division at the USC Information Sciences Institute (ISI), is on a journey to help build a better world with AI. He interviews the ISI humans behind AI to understand what motivates them, how they shape AI today, and where they hope AI will go.

Mozhdeh Gheini, a Research Assistant at ISI, discusses how her early interest in translation led her to her work in AI today. She shares her hopes for how models could be used by individuals in the future, and how having conversations about AI regulation could help us get there. She explores what paths she might’ve taken if she hadn’t gone into AI, and how concerts and her grandmother’s cooking would’ve influenced them. And she explains why perseverance is a quality she admires in other researchers. Listen to her episode of AI/nsiders below.
