Biography

Kaci Silverman serves as the Senior Associate Dean for Advancement providing strategic vision, leadership, and oversight for advancement functions for the Viterbi School of Engineering. She focuses on promoting the school’s priorities and strategic initiatives, fundraising for philanthropic gifts and planned giving, and developing strong corporate, foundation, and alumni relations. She guides stewardship, donor relations, and events, and works closely with the Viterbi Board of Councilors and advisory boards. Kaci leads a committed team that raises philanthropic support, and engages alumni, parents, corporations, foundations, and friends to achieve aspirational goals of the Viterbi School of Engineering for innovation, research, student support, capital projects, K-12 STEM, community outreach, and experiential learning opportunities.

Kaci Silverman previously served as Executive Director, Development at the RAND Corporation. As part of the leadership team, she ensured RAND's fundraising strategy and campaign outcomes were achieved through engagement with the philanthropic community. She has over fifteen years of experience in fundraising in public higher education and providing strategic consulting and visioning for non-profit organizations. Kaci served as Senior Director of Development and Operations at the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering, where she was responsible for raising major gifts and leading the school’s alumni relations, annual giving, and donor relations teams. She also served in various development and management roles at UCLA Samueli Engineering, UCLA School of Arts and Architecture, and in strategic consulting roles working with non-profit organizations and foundations. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
