Over 100 alumni, faculty and staff of the Daniel J. Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering gathered at the USC Downtown Los Angeles tower on April 3, enjoying food, drinks and sweeping views of the city at the department’s 2019 alumni mixer.

The event also provided an opportunity to honor the department’s namesake alumnus Daniel J. Epstein, who was presented with the inaugural ISE Distinguished Alumni Award.

Daniel Epstein earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the USC Viterbi School of Engineering in 1962 and serves on the school’s board of councilors.

Epstein is the Executive Chairman and Founder of the ConAm Group, a leading privately-owned apartment management firm that operates approximately 55,000 apartments throughout the United States.

The Epstein family has made numerous transformative donations to the university. In 2002, Epstein provided a $10 million department naming gift to Industrial and Systems Engineering, which at the time was the largest gift to any USC academic department.

Epstein has previously been awarded USC’s Asa V. Call Alumni Achievement Award.
