January 15th, 2026

USC Viterbi and IIT alumni of Southern California jointly hosted an AI presummit event at the Banerjee and Mittal Auditorium in Ginsburg Hall for the Indian Consulate in Los Angeles. This event had opening remarks from Dean Yortsos, and Consulate General Dr. Srinivasa, keynote talk by Prem Natarajan of Capital One, and panel discussions with several faculty and IIT alumni.

December 6 - 11th, 2025

A delegation led by President Kim visited India with the signature event of USC-India Awards on December 7, in Mumbai. The delegation included from Viterbi are Dean Yannis Yortsos, Vice Dean Cauligi Raghavendra, Executive Vice Dean Gaurav Sukhatme, Vice President Shrikanth Narayanan, Senior Associate Dean for Advancement Kaci Silverman, and Sudha Kumar, Director, Alumni and Constituent Relations, India. The delegation also met with alumni and parents at events in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore.

October 1st, 2025

IIT Kanpur Department head and Professor visited USC to meet with Vice dean Raghavendra and Viterbi faculty. They also met with Viterbi PhD students and postdocs who are potential faculty candidates for IIT.

September 15th, 2025

Vice Chancellor and Dean of faculty from Plaksha University, India, visited and met with Vice Dean Raghavendra and Viterbi faculty. They also met with Viterbi PhD students who are potential faculty members.

May 27 - July 16th, 2025

IUSSTF-Viterbi summer research program kicked off with a luncheon on May 27, 2025. Fifteen students came in this program and they spent 8 weeks at USC working with their faculty mentors in the USC Viterbi School. Final presentations from these students took place on July 16, 2025.

March 21st, 2025

The vice chancellor and dean for International affairs from Delhi Technological University met with Dean Yortsos, VP for Research Puri, and vice-dean Raghavendra to discuss research and education collaborations.

December 16th, 2024

Dean Raghavendra visited our partner institution, the Indian Institute of Science, and met with the Director. He also visited the Amrita University campus in Bangalore for discussions on education and research collaborations.

December 9th, 2024

Dean and his team met with Akshay Sahni, Head of Chevron, India and discuss potential collaborations.
India Advisory Board meeting with about 15 board members present in the meeting. Dean presented the school’s accomplishments. There was discussions on various topics on increasing Viterbi and USC presence in India, opportunities for research and education collaborations.
